Using Your Receiver

Understand the various controls on the receiver, such as tuning knobs, mode selectors, and volume/squelch adjustments.

How to Use a receiver

1.Frequency Calibration:
Calibrate the receiver to ensure it accurately receives signals within the desired frequency range. Follow the calibration instructions provided with the kit.

2. Select Frequency and Mode:
Set the receiver to the desired frequency range (118MHz – 136MHz) and select the appropriate mode (AM, which is commonly used for aviation communication).

3. Volume and Squelch Settings:
Adjust the volume to a comfortable level. Squelch settings control the receiver’s sensitivity, eliminating background noise when no signal is present. Adjust squelch until you hear clear transmissions.
